Welcome to Rainforest Studios, home to original photographs of the Costa Rican rainforests and exclusive tours of the parts of the real Costa Rica that most tourists never see.

These exquisite photos were taken by Bobby Maxson, a rainforest expert in his own right. Bobby and his wife, Laura lived in the rainforest for many years. Bobby shot photos so everyone could experience the beauty and for scientific reasons. Some of the photos on this site have been recognized nationally and internationally.

Within the site you’ll find an array of images from beautiful landscapes, sunsets and rises to creatures of the night that many people never get to see. The Clear Winged Butterflies are something to see and their cocoons (called “Crystals”) are even more impressive.

The images are here to buy for your personal use or, if you would like to purchase a license to use them elsewhere, contact us and let us know what your interest is. We will be happy to give you a quote. If you would be interested in one of the images on canvas or other materials, let us know there too. We can provide them in sizes from postage stamp size to wall murals; framed or not.

The tours we offer are more unique than others offered. Ours are not the run-of-the-mill tour where you go to the Americanized area of Costa Rica.
